My Journey Through Vision Therapy

By: Grace (Patient)

When I was about 10 years old, I started getting headaches, and it was hard to read. My letters would always double or be blurry or even scattered around the page.

I went to an eye doctor, and they prescribed my prescription glasses and said that I probably just needed a low prescription. I thought they would help too, but it kept happening, so we went back to the doctor and said I was “too young for bifocals” so he said there was nothing wrong, but he sent me to a specialist just in case he was missing something.

When I got exams done at the specialist, they literally asked my parents, and I quote “does she just want glasses because it seems like she’s faking” my parents said no, obviously because I hated wearing my glasses, so the specialist gave me an even lower prescription.

At this point, my parents were fed up, so we asked my real doctor about it, and he said, “it might cost a little bit more money, but I think you should look into Wow Vision Therapy” my parents were all for it they were like “I don’t care just get my kids eyes fixed” and I totally agreed about the whole getting my eyes fixed.

After a couple of months, we finally signed up, and I started my journey.

When I took my first test at Vision Therapy, I was reading and seeing at a 4yr old level, but I gave vision therapy my all, and it was honestly so fun. You get to play games, win prizes, draw, play video games, and do activities while helping your eyes. It’s so fun you don’t even realize you are working your eyes and that all the fun stuff you are doing is actually eye-related.

I will say it was kind of frustrating at first because I couldn’t do stuff very well, and the games were hard at first, but now the games are so easy and fun. If you start Vision Therapy, please don’t expect your kid’s vision to be fixed within a month because it takes a while, but if you trust the process, I promise it will be worth it.

Remember when I said I was reading like a 4yr old well, now I’m reading like an 18 yr old and I have mastered all my activities. I also don’t get any headaches any more. When I started Vision Therapy, I didn’t think it would work, and I didn’t think the activities were helping, but once I started getting better, I stopped doubting myself and the process, and now I am reading so smoothly and a lot faster too.

I really enjoyed vision therapy, and I think you will too.

Overall, vision therapy completely changed the way I see the world, and I really felt like I got close with my vision therapist (Mrs. Connie) and loved working with everyone, and I love the outcome too!

GRACE’S SUCCESS STORY FROM HER PARENTS

By: Chris & Deb (Grace’s Dad & Mom)

Before starting vision therapy, Grace’s vision was blurry, she had double vision, and the words moved on the page as she read. She had daily headaches, was finding school harder and harder, and it was affecting her confidence. She had glasses, but they didn’t seem to help.

From day one, we were impressed with the staff’s knowledge, the technology used, and the unique exercises we could do with her at home to see her weekly progress. Just six months later, Grace is graduating from therapy with these issues firmly behind her! She can now read at a regular pace, the headaches are gone and gone, and words are no longer blurry or doubled. She also enjoyed going and felt very supported by the team that was helping her.

We are amazed and grateful for the difference Wow Vision Therapy has made in Grace’s life – and also in ours!
