Advanced Virtual Reality Vision Therapy

As one of the country’s leading Vision Therapy practices, those with Refractive Amblyopia can now obtain the most advanced no-patch treatment through our Remote Virtual Reality (VR) program. At Wow Vision Therapy, our state-of-the-art VR Vision Therapy provides effective treatment for children, teens & adults, without the need to travel hundreds of miles to one of our offices.

During early childhood development, when an individual is unable to focus both eyes together as a team the brain turns off or suppresses the incoming signals from the affected eye. With Refractive Amblyopia, one eye has significantly uncorrected nearsightedness, farsightedness, and/or astigmatism. When this happens, the brain favors the eye with better vision and shuts off or suppresses the weaker eye – creating Amblyopia. See our Amblyopia page to learn more about this condition.

While in this program, you will gain access to the most advanced Home-Based Amblyopia (Lazy Eye) treatment through our Virtual Reality platform! With this technique, we connect you with our Board-Certified team, remotely. During each session, we provide individualized and targeted Vision Therapy with our advanced Vivid Vision Virtual Reality. From this, you will get to utilize our leading Vision Therapy treatment as if you were right in our office!

For adults with Amblyopia, many assume that treatment is only effective for children or that there are no treatment options for adults. However, those days are over! Through modern-day advancements in research and practices, there are new treatment options for adults that go beyond patching or atropine drops!

Through our Advanced Virtual Reality Vision Therapy, treatment is now possible for children, teens, AND adults! In fact, our treatment is often more effective for adult patients as older patients are typically more motivated, especially once they start seeing the results with their own eyes!

To qualify for our program, patients must:

  • Be 8 years old and above
  • Have Refractive Amblyopia
  • NOT have an eye turn, cross-eye, or wandering eye (Strabismus)
  • Have a comprehensive eye health and vision evaluation within 24 months

Before Starting Treatment

Before starting treatment, you will need to contact our office to schedule an initial TeleHealth Consultation with our doctor. To do this, call our office at 269.983.3309 during regular office hours, or you may fill out our Contact Form below, and we will follow up with you.

During your introductory call with our office, one of our Patient Care Coordinators will work with you to gather your Ophthalmic Records and Medical History information. At this time, we also schedule your consultation with one of our doctors.

Telehealth Consultation

After we receive all your records, our doctor will meet with you via a Zoom Video Call. During this video call, the doctor will review your ophthalmic records and medical history information, gain additional history and clinical information, and perform additional tests. After analyzing your information, the doctor will determine if you are a candidate for this program and answer any questions you might have. If you or your child qualifies, the doctor will go over all the equipment we ship to you as part of your treatment. This device will connect you or your child with our Doctor/Therapist team, allowing us to provide your individualized treatment program.

Directly following your TeleHealth Consultation with the doctor, you will speak with one of our Patient Care Coordinators who will outline all the necessary treatment information and answer any other questions you may have.
