Advanced Amblyopia Vision Therapy

EXPANDING ACCESS TO CARE FOR OLDER PATIENTS

As one of the leading vision therapy practices in the US, older individuals with Refractive Amblyopia can now be effectively treated with our advanced remote Vision Therapy in Virtual Reality (VR)  program. At Wow Vision Therapy, our state-of-the-art VR Vision Therapy provides safe and effective treatment within the comforts of home, for those who qualify, typically in only 6-12 weeks.

WHAT IS REFRACTIVE AMBLYOPIA?

During early childhood development, when an individual is unable to focus both eyes together as a team the brain turns off or suppresses the incoming signals from the affected eye. With Refractive Amblyopia, one eye has significantly uncorrected nearsightedness, farsightedness, and/or astigmatism. When this happens, the brain favors the eye with better vision and shuts off or suppresses the weaker eye – creating Amblyopia. See our Amblyopia page to learn more about this condition.

WHAT MAKES OUR PROGRAM UNIQUE

Those who complete the acceptance criteria will start by having their initial TeleHealth Consultation with one of the country’s leading experts in vision therapy, our Founder, Dr. Dan L. Fortenbacher.  Dr. Fortenbacher will review and determine the prescribed treatment plan. Those qualifying patients will work directly with one of our vision therapists providing weekly individualized and targeted vision therapy with our advanced Virtual Reality and other remote care programs.

TREATMENT FOR ALL AGES

For adults with Amblyopia, many assume that treatment is only effective for children or that there are no treatment options for adults. However, those days are over! Through modern-day advancements in research and practices, there are new treatment options for adults that go beyond patching or atropine drops!

Through our Advanced Virtual Reality Vision Therapy, treatment is now possible for children, teens, AND adults! In fact, our treatment is often more effective for adult patients as older patients are typically more motivated, especially once they start seeing the results with their own eyes!
